Community Update 10/25/24

Bridge/Driveway funding:
We have just heard from Rod Honeycutt (county manager) that FEMA may grant up to $34.5k for private bridge repair/replacement. According to Mr. Honeycutt, this funding is a grant, not a loan. Those interested need to go to the Disaster Readiness Center (DRC) at the Madison County Library in Marshall – 1335 N Main Street. They are open every day from 8am-7pm to help provide assistance. If you have questions about funding for the repair of private driveways, the DRC should be able to assist with those questions as well.
Local funding:
The Spring Creek Community Center has received modest grant funding to assist with bridges/driveways. We will be sending out a flier to all Spring Creek residents. Keep an eye out for additional information the first week of November.
FEMA at the SCCC:
We will have FEMA representatives here at the Spring Creek Community Center tomorrow, Saturday 10/26, to assist with the application process. They will arrive at 9:30am – we recommend that you come in the morning as we do not know how late they will be staying.
Donation Center:
The donation area of the community center will be open tomorrow, Saturday October 26, from 2-6pm to pick up supplies that you may need. We will also have lunch available from the World Central Kitchen until it’s gone.
