Robin joined the board in 2022. She grew up over Doggett Mountain in the Little Sandy Mush community but has spent a lot of time in the Spring Creek community where her mother’s family originated. Robin’s goal is to be able to serve her community with the same devotion as did her mother and grandmother. Robin loves cattle and the farm life. It still brings her some of her greatest joys and memories in life. She enjoys advocating for farmers/agriculture and rural communities. She also loves spending time with her children and grandchildren and her Blue Heelers Sadie and Harley.

Kelsey has lived in Spring Creek for a decade. Her husband, Raphe, is a Spring Creek native and they live in the house he grew up in. They have two small children, one in kindergarten, and the other was born in 2023. She started volunteering at the community center after her first child was born. As a new mother she wanted to connect with other parents and she has met many wonderful people just by volunteering. Kelsey joined the board because she felt she could contribute more to help create kid-friendly programs and spaces.

Mary Jo joined the board in 2022. She loves all things Spring Creek. She began volunteering at the food pantry and at the Spring Creek Community Center library prior to joining the board. Reading, hiking, making soup, and baking cookies are some of her favorite things.

Alice grew up in a small town in eastern North Carolina. After having a career in biomedical research product management/sales, she joined the Spring Creek Community Center board in 2020. She currently dedicates her community center time by supporting grant writing, organizing fundraising events, and working with Madison County and granting organizations. In addition, she is a Trail Ambassador for Max Patch educating visitors about the beautiful knoll that is part of our community. Alice and her husband, Douglas, love their dogs and cats and chickens and all critters.

Jim’s current community service activities include volunteering at the Weaverville Habitat store, and serving as secretary and vice president for the Cold Springs Ranch Board of Directors. His hobbies include hiking, Jeeping, visiting state and national parks, music festivals, and fellowship with friends.

Breanne was born and raised in Minnesota and thought she would live her whole life there, until finding Madison County through her husband’s graduate school externship. They quickly bought a farm in Spring Creek and now live there with horses, cats, and dogs. Breanne previously worked in various community-based social service organizations. Breanne has been involved with the community center and community events since joining the community, and in December 2022 joined the board. She is excited about strengthening and expanding the services offered to Spring Creek through the Community Center.

Wilson has been a member of the board for many years. He was instrumental in the completion of Phase 2 (gymnasium, hallway, and bathrooms). Wilson’s family has been a part of Spring Creek and Meadow Fork communities since the first deed dated in 1846. Wilson and his wife, Ann, have 3 children, 10 grandchildren , and great-grandchildren on the way! He works on the farm keeping it groomed and nice for family visits. Wilson is also very active in the church and is a deacon at the Flats of Spring Creek Baptist Church.

Ali joined the board in 2025 after first volunteering for the SCCC’s Communications Committee, where she continues to use her background in social media marketing to showcase the Center’s work and build community connection. Before moving to Spring Creek, Ali spent seven years practicing real estate law; but after becoming a mother and relocating to the mountains, she shifted her focus to digital storytelling. She now lives on a small farm with her husband, twin daughters, and a growing group of rescue dogs (and goats). Ali is passionate about animals, rural life, and using social media to uplift the voices and stories that matter most in small communities.

Ryan joined the board in 2025 and has lived in Spring Creek since late 2019. He is also a member of the volunteer fire department, leader of the Spring Creek 4-H club, and a coordinator for the newly formed Mad Co Food Shed Coalition. Ryan’s goals are to work locally and help create an environment where others can also support themselves by supporting the local community. Through his community roles he hopes to encourage participation in local food systems, collaborative education, and new and lasting connections throughout Spring Creek.
We encourage the community to attend the meetings and events held at the community center. The board is currently interested in adding members/volunteers who are interested in actively supporting the community.
