Why did you choose Spring Creek for part of your practice?

I was introduced to Spring Creek by a few different community members as I was working on my national board exams. I took one visit to meet with Toni and was 100% sold on the space she thoughtfully curated for alternative medicine. The services offered at the Co-op are provided with a genuine goal to maintain the health and strength of the people of Spring Creek. This is aligned with my personal mission to expand the access to healthcare options. I am humbled with the warm welcome I have received and look forward to spending even more time in the area.

What does community mean to you?

Especially since Helene, I think about this daily. Community is: the culmination of neighbors offering and accepting help from each other with the unique tools in their toolkit. Community is “togetherness”.

How did you get into the work you do?

I began as a patient about 10 years ago. I was inspired by my acupuncturist’s thorough questions and use of herbal medicine in treatment. Not long after, I started as an assistant at the Chinese Acupuncture Clinic in Montford and later enrolled in the Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts. After thousands of class and clinical internship hours, I graduated with a DACM (Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine) degree and started the chapter of Pink Moon Medicine.

Do you live in Spring Creek? Surrounding area?

I live in Weaverville, but travel to Spring Creek & Hot Springs at least once weekly. I look forward to the trip every single time!

What do you love most about Spring Creek?

In addition to the breath-taking scenery, I love that there is an underlying expectation of being kind to each other and kind to the land.

Do you have any pets?

I have two polar bear cubs (Great Pyrenees) and a flock of chickens that make me happy. Please don’t offer me any of your animals because I will say yes.

Is there anything unique about you that you would like to share with the SC community?

If I were to choose another life path, I’d likely be a school art teacher. I love working with children and want to make sure families know that I have patients of all ages. Acupuncture, herbal medicine, and food therapy can be applied to kids in ways that are gentle and enjoyable!

What activities would you like to see or recommend the SCCC host?

I would love to see more skill-share classes of all varieties (wild-crafting, sewing, music, woodworking, etc.)! There are so many talented people to learn from here.
