Community Update 10/23/24

As a reminder, we have a volunteer meeting on Thursday at 9:30 am.  Beginning next week we will have them only on Tuesday at 8:30 am.  PLEASE NOTE THE TIME CHANGE!
FEMA reps will be at SCCC at 9:30 am on Saturday in the gym.
There is free Veterinary care on Tuesday for Hot Springs and Spring Creek folks from 12-6 pm next to the Hot Springs Rafting Co and Post Office..  Vaccines, physicals, medications, pet food… all available for free.
A nice story:
Last week one of our Spring Creek community members, Erica, had friends come from TN and ME.  The vehicle from Maine was loaded with heavy duty rubber fishing boots – loaded…. over 300 pairs.  It was clear that the South Toe Fire Department needed provisions for their community.  In addition to the boots, 10 generators with full gas cans and extension cords were loaded on the trailer along with other supplies the community center had been holding for this trip.  The generators were donated by Southern Dharma.  Our local ROAR group brought the generators to SCCC and on Saturday and Sunday deliveries were made.  Spring Creek is fortunate.  There are still a lot of people without electricity and that will likely be into 2025 before they see true relief.  Boots did make it to Hot Springs and Marshall.
