Which will include snacks, popcorn, and a homemade meal of hot dogs & mac n cheese. Bring your own blankets and lounging items to really settle in. You are also welcome to bring food from home (please note that Dave’s 209 will be closed that day). Plot: Gentle farmer Arthur Hoggett wins a piglet Babe at a county fair.  CHC – Madison County Long-Term Recovery

From Chris Watson, Executive Director of the Community Housing Coalition (CHC) of Madison County:

Please mark your calendars for January 21st from 1-3pm at AB Tech Madison for a community meeting to learn about the progress and planning for the Madison County Long-Term Recovery Group (LTRG). The Madison County LTRG is being created to provide recovery assistance to individuals and families affected by the Hurricane Helene disaster, with the goal of enabling all residents to recover. Additional details to follow in early January.

 Rapid Response for Forages

NC State University has received grant funding from USDA to work toward farmland recovery in combination with research after the damage caused by Hurricane Helene. This project is a partnership between research staff on NC State’s campus and NC Cooperative Extension, hoping to target Helene-damaged cropland, tree-planted areas, and pastures, with the dual objectives of providing forage for grazing livestock and floral resources in the landscape while stabilizing soils in the affected region using UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) and the process of frost seeding.

For more information, please press the button below labeled “More Information”. If you would like to enroll to be part of this research project, please press the button below labeled “Enrollment Form”, or select the link on the page with more information.  If you have any further questions, please reach out to Peyton Duckett at peyton_duckett@ncsu.edu, and he will be happy to help answer them.
